About Us:
The mission of the MATS Committee on Practice Advancement (COPA) is to advance the profession by seeking recognition and reimbursement by third-party payors as autonomous providers of physical medicine and rehabilitative care.
The COPA Committee is committed to discovering ways Athletic Trainers can meet the needs in the ever-changing healthcare setting by investigating where ATs can be utilized in non-traditional settings.
Goals, Functions, and Responsibilities:
-
Continue to progress with TPR in the State of Michigan
-
Continue to formulate documents to help MI ATs pursue their billing practice
-
Collect data on outcomes with ATs seeing patients from eval to discharge
-
Continue advocating for ATs to work in more settings beyond our traditional ones. Given the healthcare shortages, how can ATs fill the gaps?
